Bears get encouraging Rome Odunze injury update after practice exit
The Chicago Bears appear to have avoided another potentially concerning injury to one of their top offensive weapons. Wide receiver Rome Odunze left Thursday's practice with an apparent foot injury, but the early indications are encouraging. According to the Chicago Tribune's Dan Wiederer, preliminary indications are that Odunze "should be all good" following his practice exit. The update is particularly important with the Bears now breaking for the weekend and their Week 1 matchup against the Carolina Panthers approaching. Odunze enters 2026 as one of the most important pieces of Ben Johnson's offense and is expected to play a significant role alongside Luther Burden III and tight end Colston Loveland in Caleb Williams' passing attack. For now, Wiederer's report should ease concerns about Odunze's status. His participation when the Bears return to practice will provide the next meaningful indication of his availability for Week 1.
