Rome Odunze lands in top 10 of Yahoo's under-25 wide receiver rankings
Chicago Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze is drawing plenty of national respect entering the 2026 season after Yahoo Sports ranked him No. 8 among the NFL's top 15 wide receivers under 25 years old. While acknowledging the ranking may generate some debate, Yahoo's Matt Harmon said Odunze has already shown enough to justify his place among the league's brightest young pass catchers. "I bet this will likely be viewed as my most aggressive and controversial ranking," Harmon wrote. "However, I have seen more than enough to place Rome Odunze at this position." The evaluation highlighted Odunze's impressive start to the 2025 season, when he ranked 19th in yards per route run and 15th in receiving yards per game through the first eight weeks. During that stretch, only Amon-Ra St. Brown, Michael Pittman Jr., Davante Adams, and George Pickens caught more touchdown passes. Harmon also noted that Odunze's film was even more impressive than his production, pointing to his route running and overall talent while suggesting that cleaning up the drops that plagued him in 2025 could unlock another level of production.
