TJ Edwards activated from NFI list by Bears
The Chicago Bears welcomed back one of the leaders of their defense Wednesday, activating linebacker TJ Edwards from the non-football injury list. Edwards had been sidelined with a calf injury to begin training camp, but is now cleared to return as the Bears continue preparing for the preseason. Chicago is holding a shorts-and-shells practice, providing Edwards an opportunity to ease back into team activities before the intensity ramps up later in camp. His return restores an important piece of the Bears' linebacker corps and gives defensive coordinator Dennis Allen another veteran leader on the field as the defense continues installing its scheme ahead of the 2026 season.
