Ben Johnson confirms Kyle Monangai is week-to-week with knee injury
The Chicago Bears received another update on running back Kyle Monangai ahead of Tuesday's practice, and it continues to sound like the second-year back avoided a significant injury. Coach Ben Johnson confirmed that Monangai is officially "week-to-week" after suffering a hyperextended knee during Sunday's practice. An MRI produced encouraging results after initial testing showed Monangai's knee was structurally sound. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler previously reported that Monangai was expected to miss multiple weeks. The "week-to-week" designation makes his availability for the remainder of the preseason uncertain, but the more important question is whether he'll be ready for Chicago's Week 1 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
