Ben Johnson: Braxton Jones hasn't won Bears' left tackle job yet
Chicago Bears left tackle Braxton Jones has opened team drills with the first-team offense each day from Monday through Wednesday this week, but head coach Ben Johnson emphasized the starting job remains up for grabs. "We hope to have a lot of clarity by the middle of next week," Johnson said. "This is not a done deal by any stretch of the imagination. We're going to continue to cycle guys through." Jones appears to have the early edge in the competition, but Johnson confirmed the Bears still plan to rotate Jedrick Wills Jr., Kiran Amegadjie, and Theo Benedet through the position. While Wills and Amegadjie have seen opportunities with the starters during camp, Benedet has yet to receive first-team reps in full-team periods. Chicago is expected to continue evaluating its options before settling on a Week 1 starter.
