In 2025, the Buffalo Bills utilized a balanced 2x2 offensive formation on 40.67% of their plays, while 1x3 and 3x1 formations combined for 33.54%. The addition of wide receiver DJ Moore for the 2026 season, along with Joe Brady's promotion to head coach, may lead to an increase in unbalanced formations. This is because Moore is considered a true "X" receiver, enabling the team to be more confident in one-on-one matchups on the backside of unbalanced sets.
