Caleb Williams sends encouraging message to injured Coby Bryant

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is making sure Coby Bryant knows the team will be waiting for him as the veteran safety begins his long road back from knee surgery. Williams said he hasn't tried to overwhelm Bryant with sympathy, instead choosing to support him in the way he'd want teammates to treat him if their roles were reversed. "I've gone up to him, dapped him up, and just kind of been stoic about it, asking him how he's doing, but nothing too deep," Williams said. Williams has also exchanged texts with Bryant, offering an encouraging message about what could be waiting for him at the end of his recovery. "Just letting him know I'm going to be here, we're going to get this thing going, and when you come back, we'll be rolling just in time for you." Bryant underwent knee surgery and is expected to miss four to six months, putting most — if not all — of his regular season in jeopardy. Williams' message makes the Bears' goal clear: stay in contention long enough for Bryant to potentially return and contribute when the games matter most.
