The Chicago Bears are getting their franchise quarterback back.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bears are planning to start Caleb Williams against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday after missing the last three games with a torn hamstring.
Williams completed a full week of practice without experiencing any setbacks, clearing the way for his anticipated return in Week 6.
Caleb Williams set to return after missing three games
Williams suffered the hamstring injury against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2 and has been working his way back ever since.
The Bears turned to veteran Case Keenum and backup Tyson Bagent during his absence, managing to win two of three games before the offense completely unraveled against Green Bay.
Williams was listed as a full participant on Wednesday's estimated injury report, and his participation in subsequent practices proved he was ready to return. He sounded confident when he spoke with reporters this week.
"I mean, I can move, I can run," Williams said. "I hit a top speed the other day, one of my high speeds I've ever hit and so I can move, I can run, I've got strength."
Despite being cleared to play, Williams still has to monitor how he's feeling throughout the game.
"There are certain parameters that clear you to go and lower the risk of reinjuring, and obviously just being smart with it throughout the week," he said.
Bears offense gets much-needed boost
Williams' return couldn't come at a better time for coach Ben Johnson.
Chicago's offense committed five turnovers against the Packers, with Bagent and Keenum both contributing to the woes.
Getting Williams back will immediately boost a passing attack still trying to unlock Rome Odunze, Luther Burden, and Colston Loveland.
The Bears face the Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
After three games on the sideline, Caleb Williams is expected to be back where Bears fans want him: leading Chicago's offense.
