The Chicago Bears received at least a little encouraging injury news Monday, even if several players remain sidelined.
Rookie wide receiver Zavion Thomas was back on the practice field one day after leaving Sunday's session with a knee issue, and he didn't appear to be walking with much of a limp. Thomas wasn't participating in the walkthrough, so he's clearly not back to full activity, but his presence on the field and ability to move around relatively normally are positive developments after Sunday's scare.
There was also an encouraging visual from Luther Burden III.
Burden, Kyler Gordon, Montez Sweat, and several of Chicago's other injured players spent time signing autographs during the walkthrough. According to ALLCHGO's Adam Hoge, Burden appeared to be walking relatively normally despite suffering a groin injury Saturday that is expected to sideline him for approximately a month.
The Bears are hopeful Burden will recover in time for the regular-season opener against the Carolina Panthers.
None of Monday's observations should be confused with a medical update or an accelerated recovery timeline. Thomas wasn't practicing, and Burden still has several weeks of rehabilitation ahead of him.
Still, considering how quickly injuries have piled up during Bears training camp, seeing both players moving around without obvious significant limitations qualifies as welcome news.
