Kaden Davis continues to make his case for a spot on the Chicago Bears' 53-man roster, and Caleb Williams has taken notice.

Williams praised Davis after the Bears' joint practice with the Cincinnati Bengals for how quickly he's picked up Ben Johnson's offense and, more importantly, turned that knowledge into production on the field.

"Him being able to come in and learn the plays pretty fast," Williams said on Thursday. "Where to line up. How to line up. How to run the routes. … And then just being in the right position."

Davis has been one of the Bears' most impressive under-the-radar players this summer. He caught four passes for 88 yards in Chicago's preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns and has continued making plays in practice, including opportunities with the first-team offense.

"He's made plays for us so far, whether it's in practice or in the game," Williams said. "He's been explosive. He's been fun to watch. I'm excited for him to keep growing and keep working."

Williams isn't the only Bears coach or player taking notice. Passing game coordinator Press Taylor recently praised Davis for consistently "putting wins on tape" and said his production is why more opportunities have been coming his way.

At this point, Davis is doing everything a receiver on the roster bubble can do. He's learned the offense. He's produced in games. He's made plays in practice. And now the Bears' franchise quarterback is publicly praising him.

Davis still has work to do before the 53-man roster is finalized, but he's making himself increasingly difficult to cut.
