D'Andre Swift Injury Update: Bears RB expects to play Monday night vs. Vikings (News)

The Chicago Bears will be shorthanded on offense against the Minnesota Vikings in tonight's Monday night football game, as left tackle Braxton Jones will miss the contest due to a concussion he suffered in Week 14's loss to the San Francisco 49ers. But it could've been much worse for Caleb Williams and the rest of the offense.

Running back D'Andre Swift was listed as questionable on the Bears' final injury report, and he was considered a game-time decision with his groin injury after missing several days of practice this week, but sources confirmed to Bears Talk that Swift will play tonight, assuming he doesn't re-aggravate the injury in pregame warmups.

Interim head coach Thomas Brown said earlier this week that he was "positive" Swift would suit up against the Vikings, and it appears his optimism is justified.

Swift joined the Chicago Bears as a big-ticket free agent last offseason. He's made a modest impact this year, totaling 742 rushing yards and five touchdowns (3.8 yards per carry) through 13 games. Swift is in a bit of a slump and will need a big game against the Vikings for the Bears to have any chance at pulling off an upset win. The fifth-year back hasn't reached 40 rushing yards in each of his last three games.
