WATCH: Brian Baldinger breaks down Caleb Williams’ NFL debut
NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger did an incredible three-play breakdown of Bears QB Caleb Williams’ NFL debut against the Bills.
If you’re a football junkie, then you already love NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger’s breakdowns. He dives into the finer details of a series of plays and helps unlock a deeper level of understanding of why something worked or failed.
In the case of Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams’ pro debut against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday night, Baldinger used three of Williams’ completions to prove just how impressive the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft was.

One thing from Baldinger’s breakdown that stuck out to me was how Williams’ most dynamic throw — the strike to Cole Kmet — came from under center, something he wasn’t asked to do much (if at all) during his time at Oklahoma and USC. The fact he made such a high-level play from under center is noteworthy.
Caleb Williams will get his next taste of the NFL in Preseason Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals at Soldier Field.
