It's been a long time -- like, forever -- since the Chicago Bears had a quarterback with as much fanfare as Caleb Williams.

The first overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft is already drawing rave reviews from inside Halas Hall, and those outside the building are expecting big things from the former Heisman Trophy winner.

Really, really big things. Rookie of the Year type big things.

Caleb Williams is the favorite to win the 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

This isn't all that surprising, though, right? Williams was dubbed a generational quarterback prospect before the 2023 college football season, and even though he didn't have the kind of final campaign at USC that he had hoped for, he remained the unquestioned top player in the 2024 draft and one of the best quarterback prospects to enter the league since Andrew Luck.

The fact that Williams will throw passes to DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze, and Cole Kmet in his rookie season certainly boosts his odds of being the best first-year player in the NFL, but he's so talented that I don't think it would've mattered where he was drafted, he still would've been the leader in the Rookie of the Year clubhouse.
