Now that the Chicago Bears have traded quarterback Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ryan Poles' pre-draft strategy is officially dominating the discussion.

We recently polled Bears fans, asking them who they want the Chicago Bears to select with the No. 1 overall pick. The overwhelming response was USC quarterback Caleb Williams, as seen by the poll results below.

The Bears essentially made their decision at quarterback by trading Fields to Pittsburgh in exchange for a 2025 sixth-round selection that becomes a fourth-round pick if Fields meets certain play-time incentives. Trading down to accumulate more selections, which Poles did last season, no longer qualifies as a realistic option.

Only 7.1% of Bears fans voted in favor of trading down from the No. 1 pick.

Up-to-the-minute results show that fellow quarterback prospects Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels have captured just 1.9% and 3.2% of votes. Williams is the overwhelming favorite, gaining nearly 90% of votes. The fans have spoken!

A former Heisman winner, Williams completed a career-high 68.6% of his passing attempts this season. The Washington, D.C. native threw for 3,633 yards, 30 touchdowns, and just five interceptions. Williams threw for 4,537 yards and 42 touchdowns during his 2021 Heisman-winning campaign.

If Caleb Williams is the pick in Chicago, and that's the expectation, he'll inherit an exciting new-look supporting cast that includes D.J. Moore, Keenan Allen, D'Andre Swift, Cole Kmet, and Gerald Everett.
