The Chicago Bears agreed to a two-year, $12 million contract with tight end Gerald Everett on Tuesday, adding depth and a complementary pass-catcher to the position.
Everett, 29, played for the Los Angeles Chargers for the last two seasons after spending time with the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks.
A second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Everett's ability after the catch will provide whoever's playing quarterback for the Chicago Bears with a nice bailout option with upside.
