Edmunds' early Bears tenure hasn't panned out as hoped
The Chicago Bears released linebacker Tremaine Edmunds in the early offseason, a move that saved the team $15 million in cap space, which was then used to sign free agents like safety Coby Bryant and linebacker Devin Bush. Edmunds, who is now with the New York Giants, recorded over 100 tackles in each of his three seasons with the Bears, despite missing four games last season due to injury. While Edmunds was an efficient player, the team deemed him too expensive to retain given his performance level.
