The Chicago Bears have reportedly made their blockbuster move ahead of the NFL trade deadline.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Chicago has acquired All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons from the Tennessee Titans, adding one of the NFL's premier interior defensive linemen to Dennis Allen's defense.

The move represents a Super Bowl-or-bust approach for a Bears team that has started the 2026 season 5-2 under head coach Ben Johnson.

Simmons, 29, is coming off a dominant 2025 season in which he recorded a career-high 11 sacks and earned first-team All-Pro honors.

Through seven games in 2026, Simmons has registered 38 tackles, four sacks, six tackles for loss and nine quarterback hits.

His arrival immediately levels up a Chicago defensive front that has struggled to generate consistent pressure over the first month and a half of the season.

For general manager Ryan Poles, the acquisition signals confidence that the Bears can compete for more than a playoff berth this season. Get those Super Bowl hopes revved up.

Simmons also brings a substantial financial commitment. He signed a three-year, $105.8 million contract extension with Tennessee in June.

The trade compensation has not yet been independently verified.

With the Bears already positioned among the NFC's contenders, adding Simmons could significantly improve their chances of making a deep postseason run. And if anyone had questions about whether Poles planned to be aggressive before the November 10 trade deadline, this reported acquisition answers them.
