The Chicago Bears are going all-in.
After acquiring All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons from the Tennessee Titans, the full terms of the blockbuster trade have emerged, and general manager Ryan Poles paid a massive price to land the defensive star.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the trade breaks down as follows:
Bears receive:
DT Jeffery Simmons
2028 fifth-round draft pick
Titans receive:
2027 first-round draft pick
2027 fourth-round draft pick
2028 first-round draft pick
That's two first-round selections and a fourth-rounder heading to Tennessee in exchange for Simmons and a future fifth-round pick.
It's an enormous investment in a 29-year-old defensive tackle, but one that signals Poles believes the Bears are ready to compete for a championship.
Simmons recorded a career-high 11 sacks in 2025 and has four sacks through seven games this season.
His addition immediately upgrades a Chicago defensive front that has struggled to consistently pressure opposing quarterbacks.
The Bears are 5-2 following their Week 7 victory over the New England Patriots, and Poles is clearly prioritizing the opportunity to win now.
Whether surrendering two first-round picks proves worthwhile will depend on how much Simmons transforms Chicago's defense. But one thing is certain: The Bears have made one of the boldest moves of the NFL trade deadline.
