For all the concern created by the Chicago Bears' lengthy injury report earlier this week, they'll enter Sunday's home opener in about as good of shape as they could have hoped.
The Bears don't have a single player carrying an injury designation into their Week 2 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
Not one.
Chicago's final injury report lists no players as questionable, doubtful or out. According to the Bears, it's the first time they've entered a game without an injury designation since Week 7 of the 2022 season.
It didn't look like it'd be that way just a few days ago.
Running backs D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai, right tackle Darnell Wright, tackle Ozzy Trapilo, defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo, cornerback Malik Muhammad II, and safety Xavier Woods were all limited in Thursday's practice.
Every one of them practiced fully on Friday.
For Wright in particular, that's a big improvement. He didn't practice Wednesday because of a knee injury, then progressed from limited Thursday to full participation Friday.
Swift had been dealing with ankle and knee issues, while Monangai was listed with a hamstring injury.
Bears running game should take center stage again in week 2
Chicago rushed for 291 yards and six touchdowns in its 59-37 victory over the Panthers in the opener. Swift led the way with 124 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries, while Monangai needed only 10 attempts to reach 100 yards and added another score.
Swift's performance earned him NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
And as of Friday's injury report, both Swift and Monangai are good to go.
Vikings not as healthy as Bears entering Week 2
Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray has officially been ruled out because of the concussion he sustained against Green Bay. Carson Wentz will start in his place.
Minnesota will also be without receiver Jauan Jennings because of a personal matter, while starting right tackle Brian O'Neill is questionable with a knee injury. O'Neill returned to limited participation Friday after missing Thursday's practice.
The Vikings are already without running back Jordan Mason, who was placed on injured reserve this week following thumb surgery.
bears' health improving at perfect time
The Bears spent much of training camp navigating injuries at several positions. They'll now enter their first NFC North game of the season with every player on the active roster medically cleared from an injury-designation standpoint.
One week after Chicago's offense looked nearly unstoppable in Carolina, Ben Johnson should have virtually his entire available roster at his disposal Sunday at Soldier Field.
That's about as good as a final injury report gets.
