The Chicago Bears' offseason took another emotional turn when wide receiver D. J. Moore shared a heartfelt goodbye message to the city of Chicago following his trade to the Buffalo Bills.

Moore posted the message on Instagram shortly after news of the trade became public, thanking the organization, teammates, and Bears fans for their support during his three seasons with the franchise.

“Chicago!! I wanna say appreciate all the love and support the last three years,” Moore wrote. “My family and I were proud to call this place home and this community has been unbelievable to us. We will miss you all.”

The veteran receiver also took time to acknowledge the relationship he built with fans during his time at Soldier Field.

“To the fans, you all embraced me with open arms from my first day here. I gave my all every time I stepped on the field and hopefully I made you all proud with the way I performed. We have some unbelievable memories at Soldier Field and you all are a huge part of them!!”

Moore then addressed his teammates and coaches at Halas Hall.

“To my Bears teammates, coaches and staff, I enjoyed going to work with you every day. I’ll miss seeing you all at Halas Hall. You all made me grateful every day to be a Chicago Bear!! I appreciate you all.”

He ended the message with a simple line that resonated with many Bears fans.

“And it’s always F…….”

DJ Moore’s Impact on the Chicago Bears

Moore arrived in Chicago as part of the blockbuster trade with the Carolina Panthers that delivered the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. From the beginning, he became one of the most reliable playmakers in the Bears' offense.

His route-running ability, yards-after-catch production, and consistency quickly made him a focal point of the passing game. Moore helped stabilize the receiving corps during a period of significant roster transition.

When Caleb Williams arrived as the franchise quarterback, Moore provided an experienced target capable of handling a wide range of responsibilities in the offense.

Moore's best season in Chicago came in 2023, when he posted 96 catches for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns.

Why the Bears Traded DJ Moore

The trade to the Buffalo Bills reflects a broader shift in the Bears’ roster-building strategy.

Chicago gained a 2026 second-round pick in the deal while also creating valuable salary-cap flexibility. That financial space could be used to address other roster needs as the team approaches free agency.

General manager Ryan Poles has emphasized building a balanced roster around Williams, and the move provides additional resources to strengthen both sides of the ball.

A DJ Moore Farewell That Resonated With Bears Fans

While trades are part of the NFL business, Moore’s farewell message highlighted the connection he built with the city during his time in Chicago.

Players come and go, but the relationship between Moore and Bears fans clearly left a lasting impression.

For Chicago supporters, the message served as both a thank-you and a reminder of the impact Moore made during his tenure with the franchise.
