The Chicago Bears made a ton of additions to their roster this offseason, but one of them is proving to be extremely valuable so far.
One of multiple veterans who were added to the offensive line, guard Joe Thuney has been one of the league's best interior blockers this season.
Just look at these numbers:
It only cost the Bears a fourth-round pick to acquire Thuney from the Kansas City Chiefs, and they've already extended him with a new contract that keeps him in Chicago for the next two seasons.
Upgrading the offensive line to help Caleb Williams was clearly a priority for the Bears this year. While Drew Dalman and Jonah Jackson have been solid, Thuney looks like the best newcomer of the group.
While Williams and the Bears' playmakers will continue to get most of the attention for the big numbers the offense is putting up right now, Thuney deserves his share of the credit.
