Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty disappoints in NFL preseason debut
Las Vegas Raiders first-round pick Ashton Jeanty didn't have the NFL preseason debut he hoped for.
Jeanty totaled three carries for -1 yard against the Seattle Seahawks in what was a doomed performance from the start.
The Raiders' offensive line was... brutal.
Jeanty was selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and was viewed by many draft analysts as the best running back prospect to enter the league since Saquon Barkley. He ran for a ridiculous 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns during his final season at Boise State. It was the best single-season performance by a running back since Barry Sanders' 1988 campaign.
One preseason game certainly doesn't define a career, especially the first preseason game for a rookie running back.
But for Raiders fans who were expecting a jaw-dropping run, or for Ashton Jeanty to put the NFL on notice that a new top running back has arrived? That certainly didn't happen.
