When Chicago Bears rookies and quarterbacks reported to training camp on July 19, several players were placed on the non-football injury list (NFI), including veteran backup quarterback Case Keenum.
But that changed on Sunday, when Keenum was officially removed from the NFI list. As a result, he's good to go for Bears' first training camp practice on July 23.
Keenum, 37, will compete with Tyson Bagent to be the Chicago Bears' QB2. At worst, he'll be retained as the club's QB3 in an effort to provide Caleb Williams with the kind of veteran mentorship he was lacking as a rookie in 2024.
Case Keenum is entering his 14th season in the NFL. He's started 66 games in his career during stints with the Houston Texans, Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos, Washington Commanders, Cleveland Browns, and Buffalo Bills.
