Usually, when an NFL player is asked about their personal goals, the answer is pretty canned. It ranges from being a good leader to winning a lot of games to ultimately becoming a Super Bowl champion.
So when Caleb Williams told Bears fans at Fanatics Fest what his goal was for this year and the long-term future with coach Ben Johnson, it was a breath of fresh air.
"We’re building this bond and relationship to be able to last a while," Williams said. "I know Bears fans, it’s year after year typically, or every other year, where coaches and quarterbacks specifically are in and out, and our goal is to be here for a while.”
With Johnson calling plays, and a revamped offensive line headlined by future Hall of Famer Joe Thuney keeping him upright, the odds he'll cross the 4K mark are really good, and a stat line like that will go a long way in keeping him paired with Ben Johnson for years to come.
