Where does the Bears defense rank entering Week 11?
Here’s where the Chicago Bears defense ranks entering Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season.
The Chicago Bears offense has been center stage for all the wrong reasons this week. The offensive coordinator was fired, Caleb Williams is getting crucified, and it doesn’t seem like there are any quick fixes on the horizon. Sure, maybe new offensive coordinator Thomas Brown can inject some juice into his side of the ball, but until Williams breaks out of his rookie slump, the Bears will continue to rely on their defense to keep them in games.
Let’s face it, the Bears’ defense is the primary reason why they’ve won four games this year. Imagine if they weren’t keeping opposing offenses out of the end zone? Yikes.
Let’s take a quick look at where Chicago’s defense ranks in the NFL’s major statistical categories entering Week 11’s showdown against the Green Bay Packers.
Chicago Bears Defensive Rankings
Points Allowed: 7th (18.6)
Passing Yards Allowed: 7th (190.4)
Rushing Yards Allowed: 24th (133)
Passing TDs allowed: 1st (6)
Rushing TDs allowed: 14th (9)
Sacks: 14th (24)
Interceptions: 11th (8)
Fumbles Recovered: 3rd (8)
The Chicago Bears defense is playing really well this season, even if they’ve given up a few too many rushing yards over the last couple of games. Hopefully, that was a fluke and not a trend. We’ll find out soon enough.
Moving forward, the Bears need to wrangle more sacks and give up less rushing yards and there will be no doubt that this is a top-10 unit.
