Chicago Bears 53-man Roster: Here are the players who’ve been cut so far
The Chicago Bears are slowly working their way to the final 53-man roster ahead of Tuesday’s deadline
The NFL’s 53-man roster cut deadline is Tuesday, August 28. All teams must trim their roster from 90 players to 53.
The Chicago Bears have some difficult decisions this year largely because of how deep this roster is. Kudos to GM Ryan Poles for putting together a squad that pitched a perfect preseason, which is a good indicator of how talented the second, third, and even fourth-stringers are.
The toughest decisions will likely come from the secondary, where several young defensive backs had impressive summers. The offensive line will pose a challenge to Poles and his staff, too. Depth is critical upfront, but at whose expense? We’ll have all of those questions answered over the next 48-ish hours.
Here are the Bears players who’ve been let go so far. We’ll update this post as more information becomes available:

- Douglass Coleman, DB (waived/injured)
- Tommy Sweeney, TE (waived)
- Nsimba Webster, WR (reserve/injured)
- Ian Wheeler, RB (reserve/injured)
