Just months after earning his first Pro Bowl bid, Chicago Bears defensive end Montez Sweat broke into the NFL Top 100 list for the first time in his career, landing at #82.
Every year, NFL players vote on the 100 best players in the league. While it's mostly symbolic, it's a nice honor for the players who make the cut and gives fans a good idea of what other players think of their peers. After a 12.5-sack season and becoming the first player in NFL history to lead two teams in sacks in one year, Sweat has apparently gained considerable respect around the NFL.
Only the first 20 names have been released so far, with the next ten to be announced Tuesday at noon EST and ten more each weekday after that. There is at least one more Chicago Bear who should make his debut on this list: Jaylon Johnson. But considering his dominant performance in 2023, I'm sure that Bears fans will hope that Johnson's name doesn't come until next week.
Who else should make the Top 100 list? Let us know in the comments.
