The Chicago Bears are heading into their third season with head coach Matt Eberflus at the helm, which should give them some valuable continuity on defense.
But they're also breaking in a new defensive coordinator in Eric Washington, so the presence of experienced veterans will be vital to the unit's success in 2024.
Among those key returning defenders are safety Jaquan Brisker and linebacker T.J. Edwards, both of whom are primed for big years after solid showings last season.
Both Brisker and Edwards recently spoke to the media during offseason workouts and discussed their expectations for the defense heading into the 2024 campaign:
If Brisker and Edwards can both build on last year's success, and bring along the rest of a relatively young group to a higher level of play, the Bears could be a surprise playoff team if the offense can also pull its weight behind No. 1 pick Caleb Williams at quarterback.
