The Chicago Bears will host Alabama EDGE Dallas Turner on a pre-draft visit. Turner confirmed the news to the NFL Network's Tom Pelissero during Alabama's Pro Day. Bears general manager Ryan Poles could target Turner with the No. 9 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Turner is expected to be the first defensive player drafted. Turner also has visits scheduled with the Minnesota Vikings and the Atlanta Falcons. It's worth noting the Falcons are slated to draft one overall (No. 8) before the Bears.
The Crimson Tide standout lit the NFL Combine up. The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native ran the 40 in a blazing-fast 4.46 seconds despite weighing nearly 250 pounds. Turner also leaped a 40.5 inch vertical and 10-foot-7 broad. Turner possesses near 35 inch arms which give him an advantage as a pass rusher.
Turner recorded a career-high 10 sacks this past campaign. The Bears are searching for a pass-rushing threat opposite Montez Sweat. Poles hasn't acquired a difference-maker through free agency despite Chicago totaling a 31st-ranked 30 sacks last season. If Turner is available with the ninth overall pick, there's a strong chance he'll be the Bears' selection.
The Bears are appropriately vetting Turner by hosting him on a pre-draft visit.
