Bears to hire Shane Waldron as offensive coordinator
The Chicago Bears have a new offensive coordinator in former Seahawks OC Shane Waldron.
The Chicago Bears have identified who will replace Luke Getsy as the team’s offensive coordinator: Shane Waldron.
Waldron served as the Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator for the last three seasons and has been credited with quarterback Geno Smith’s career resurgence.

If nothing else, Waldron’s offenses in Seattle have been respectable, which would be a marked upgrade for a Chicago Bears team that finished in the middle or lower half of the NFL in every major offensive category except for rushing yards.
Seahawks offense 2021-23 (Shane Waldron ):
– 0.016 EPA/play (12th)
– 44.4% success rate (13th)
– (-0.009) EPA per rush (8th)
– 0.053 EPA per dropback (14th)Been everywhere. Patriots, Rams, etc.

Waldron will be charged with the most critical task in Chicago this season: either do for Justin Fields what he did for Smith or put Caleb Williams in the best position possible for a long and successful NFL career.
