Despite the quality coaching effort put forth by Matt Eberflus during the second half of the Chicago Bears' 2023 season, there's a large army of Bears fans who are hoping Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh will man the sidelines at Soldier Field in 2024 and beyond.
Harbaugh's Wolverines won the College Football Championship over the Washington Huskies Monday night, and while many think it was the former Bears quarterback's swan song at the collegiate level, his immediate postgame comments caused a bit of a stir on Bears Twitter.

It certainly sounds like Jim Harbaugh plans on being in Ann Arbor this Spring and not in the Chicago Bears' war room when they're on the clock with the first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Bears are a no-brainer destination if Harbaugh wants to jump back into the NFL ranks. He'll return to a team he once played for and will have his pick of quarterback between Justin Fields, Caleb Williams, or Drake Maye. Combined with an up-and-coming dominant defense, Chicago is oh-so close to being a playoff team right now.
However, it feels like a long shot that the Chicago Bears will move on from Matt Eberflus. General manager Ryan Poles has sung his coach's praises in the weeks leading up to the season finale loss to the Green Bay Packers, and while Week 18 wasn't Eberflus' best day at the office, I doubt it will erase all the positive momentum he built during the second half of 2023.
But this is the NFL, and Bears fans should expect the unexpected, especially with a wildcard like Kevin Warren calling the (biggest) shots this offseason.
