The Chicago Bears' defense has been dominant over their last three games. And that's not hyperbole.

Check out the numbers that NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared on Twitter this week. They're astonishing:

The addition of defensive end Montez Sweat at the 2023 trade deadline is the spark that ignited the resurgence of the Bears' defense, one that head coach Matt Eberflus had said for weeks was on the verge of happening.

Sweat has been the "multiplier" he was described by Ryan Poles as when he explained the logic behind Chicago's decision to trade for him. Sweat's presence has had a trickle-down effect on the rest of the defensive line, they're getting to the quarterback. The linebackers have been freed up to make more plays in space, and the defensive backs are turning hurried passes into interceptions.

Montez Sweat has 3.5 sacks and 10 QB hits in his five games with the Chicago Bears. He's been an absolute force.

The Bears' defense is spearheading the team's return to the 2023 NFC playoff conversation, and it's easy to see why.

Check out all of the sacks and turnovers Chicago's defense has created over the last three games. Enjoy:
