Any hope that quarterback Justin Fields would return to the lineup Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers may vanished with the Chicago Bears' updated injury report on Wednesday.
Fields is listed as doubtful, but coach Matt Eberflus said he hasn't been cleared by the medical staff yet.
Rookie Tyson Bagent will make his fourth start.
“He’s progressing every day," Eberflus said of Fields. 'He is not medically cleared yet. (Tyson) Bagent will be our starter for the game.”
Bagent will get another chance to prove he can be that guy against a lowly Carolina Panthers team in primetime.
