The Chicago Bears have traded wide receiver Chase Claypool and a 2025 seventh-round pick to the Miami Dolphins for a 2025 sixth-round pick, according to multiple reports from NFL insiders.

Claypool represents GM Ryan Poles' biggest miss since taking the job in 2022. He traded a 2023 second-round pick -- the 32nd overall pick -- to the Pittsburgh Steelers for the underachieving wide receiver at last season's trade deadline.

Chase Claypool's time with the Bears ends with just 18 catches for 191 yards and one touchdown in 10 games.

If there's any NFL offense that can revive Claypool's once-promising career, it's Miami's. Their passing game is already loaded with talents like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, who win with speed and ridiculously crisp route-running. Claypool will offer Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel a bigger-bodied red zone target, assuming his head is on straight.

Poles deserves credit for admitting a mistake and moving on. Now, the Chicago Bears can focus on continuing to build momentum off of their first win of the season, a 40-20 drubbing of the Washington Commanders on Thursday night.
