Perhaps undrafted rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent won’t be the Chicago Bears’ backup in Week 1 afterall.
The Bears signed veteran QB Nathan Peterman Thursday (along with wide receiver Trent Taylor), sparking debate about who Justin Fields’ primary backup will be.
In a corresponding move, the Bears placed interior offensive linemen Teven Jenkins and Doug Kramer on injured reserve. Both players will be out at least the first four weeks of the regular season.
The Chicago Bears 2023 season kicks off Sunday, Sept. 10 at Soldier Field against the Green Bay Packers.
