It's never easy to be a rookie in the NFL. It's a big adjustment from college to the pros, both on and off the field. Relationships a player made in college, in most cases, are reset when they turn pro, and new ones are formed during their first NFL season and beyond.
Sometimes, those relationships begin with a prank or two.
In the case of Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Tyler Scott, that prank came as a $20,000 dinner bill.
Check it out:
The look on Scott's face says it all. It was a real "Welcome to the NFL" moment.
Fortunately for Tyler Scott and his bank account, the Bears vets didn't make him pay the bill, which according to receiver Daurice Fountain, wasn't $20.5K.
Scott joined the Bears as a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft after a quality collegiate career with the Cincinnati Bearcats. He set career highs in 2022 with 54 catches for 899 yards and nine touchdowns. He appears like a lock to make the Chicago Bears' final roster and could rank as high as fourth in the wide receiver pecking order by the time the season begins.
