Here's what the Chicago Bears' starting offensive line could look like in 2023 after signing Titans guard Nate Davis in free agency
The Chicago Bears' decision to sign former Tennessee Titans guard Nate Davis to a three-year, $30 million contract immediately sparked questions about the futures of Teven Jenkins and Cody Whitehair, last season's starters at right and left guard, respectively.
Davis has played his entire career at right guard for the Titans, but switching to left guard isn't out of the question. In fact, according to former Chicago Bears Director of College Scouting Greg Gabriel, it's a likely outcome.
As for Whitehair? He may be the solution to the Bears' problems at center.
Wrote that wrong. What may happen is Davis plays LG, Tevin stays at RG, Cody moves back inside to center and they draft a RT. That could be a pretty good OLine

Cody Whitehair is the Bears' perfect fix at center
Moving Whitehair back to center would be a fantastic roster decision by the Bears. He started at the pivot for Chicago for the first 2.5 seasons of his career and didn't become a full-time guard until 2021. Whitehair was a solid center, too. At the very least, he'd be a massive upgrade over Sam Mustipher and even Lucas Patrick.
While this is mere speculation, it's also a logical strategy. Rather than pay another high-priced free agent to start at center in 2023, the Bears could move Whitehair there and focus resources elsewhere.
If the Chicago Bears decide to avoid the offensive tackle market in free agency, they'll have no shortage of options at the position in the 2023 NFL Draft. The top offensive linemen should all be on the board when the Bears pick at No. 9. While it's a slippery slope to rely on a rookie right tackle, players like Paris Johnson Jr. (Ohio State), Broderick Jones (Georgia), and even Peter Skoronski (Northwestern) are all quality prospects who will begin their NFL careers as starters.
