The Chicago Bears' starting offensive line was unsettled this week without a clear answer for what free-agent signing Lucas Patrick's role would be in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers. The veteran interior player isn't on the injured list, but his right thumb remains a concern for snapping.

There's been speculation that Patrick would supplant Teven Jenkins as the starting right guard, but according to the beat writers on the scene at Soldier Field, that doesn't appear to be the case. Patrick is warming up with reserves.

Kickoff is scheduled from a wet and rainy Soldier Fields at 1 p.m. EST (12 p.m. CST).
