The Chicago Bears signed veteran cornerback Davontae Harris on Friday after working out several defensive backs Thursday afternoon. Harris was a fifth-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2018 NFL Draft. He appeared in six games between two teams last season (San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Chargers).

Defensive lineman Trevon Coley was signed Friday, too. The veteran has 31 starts on his resume but suffered a foot injury last summer that cost him the season.

Harris, an Illinois State alum, has nine starts in his career and will add depth to a Chicago Bears cornerback room that figures to start Jaylon Johnson, rookie Kyler Gordon and, as of now, Kindle Vildor. Veteran Tavon Young is fighting for first-team reps too.

The Bears waived defensive lineman Auzoyah Alufohai and defensive back Jon Alexander to make room for Davontae Harris and Trevon Coley.
