The Chicago Bears unveiled the orange alternate helmet they'll wear In Week 6 against the Washington Commanders on Sunday, and as you'd expect, it received mixed reviews on Twitter.

Several reactions drew comparisons between the Bears alternate helmet and the Cleveland Browns, whose social media team joined in the fun.

Some Bears fans love the orange helmets:

Chicago Bears' orange helmets add exciting element to 2022 season

The Chicago Bears, in more than 100 years, have never donned an orange helmet. That, alone, makes this year's alternate color scheme fun. And, yeah, I see the similarities to the Browns. It almost looked like they slapped the Bears' trademark "C" onto an existing Browns helmet. But orange is one of Chicago's primary colors, so they don't need to explain why they chose it for this year's alternate digs.

Check out this mockup of Darnell Mooney in the orange helmet that was shared on Twitter. It's hard not to like the final product:

The Chicago Bears are a team that's rich in tradition. And their uniform is at the top of the list of things associated with the franchise. An alternate helmet, regardless of what it is, is tough to process. But I think Chicago did well with their choice, and Bears fans will enjoy a rare opportunity to see a different color scheme in primetime on Thursday night in Week 6.
