The NFL Draft is about more than just teams adding prospects to their roster. It's about the personal stories of each player, their journey to make their dream come true.
In a way, the draft is the truest form of reality television. It sparks every emotion, from euphoric hope to enraged frustration. But regardless of whether your team picks the player you desired most, it's impossible to not get sucked in by the emotions those players share after being selected.
The NFL has done a great job sharing those emotions over the last few years when freshly picked prospects sit down to watch or read a message from their loved ones. Tears flow, and it's incredible.
Chicago Bears second-round pick Kyler Gordon experienced one of those moments shortly after he was selected 39th overall. His parents wrote him a letter that was pitch-perfect. You can watch the entire moment in this tweet that was shared by the league:
Gordon is expected to start at cornerback opposite Jaylon Johnson this year. He brings a dynamic and well-rounded skill set to a secondary tasked with stopping the likes of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, as well as explosive young receivers like Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings) and Jameson Williams (Detroit Lions).
