Chicago Bears Unlikely to Trade Tyson Bagent, Insider Says
Bears insider Brad Biggs explained why Chicago is not expected to trade backup quarterback Tyson Bagent.
The idea of the Chicago Bears trading Tyson Bagent has floated around this offseason.
But according to the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs, it's not something the team is seriously considering.
At least, not right now.
Trade Interest in Tyson Bagent Exists, But That’s It

“I don’t believe a trade involving Bagent actually has been on the table,” Biggs wrote.
That does not mean there hasn't been interest. Biggs noted the Bears have received calls on Bagent, something Ryan Poles acknowledged at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Still, interest alone is not enough.
The Bears have made it clear how they value Bagent. They moved quickly to give him a two-year, $10 million contract extension and pay raise last August, a strong signal that they view him as more than just a typical backup.

And that valuation matters when it comes to trade talks.
“If they were to trade Bagent, they’d want a pretty good return,” Biggs added.
Why a Trade Doesn’t Make Sense Right Now for the Bears

The Bears' expected return in a trade will likely block a deal from going through.
Any team willing to meet the Bears' price, which is likely a second-round pick, would likely want Bagent competing for a starting job. And as Biggs noted, there aren't many teams that fit that description right now.
“I don’t believe the Bears will be trading Bagent this spring,” he wrote. “Sure looks like he will be QB2 again this season.”

For the Bears, the logic behind keeping Tyson Bagent for at least one more season makes sense.
Behind Caleb Williams, Bagent provides stability, familiarity with the system, and proven in-game experience.
That is not something teams give away lightly.
And unless another team is willing to overpay, it is not something the Bears appear interested in moving at all.
