Chicago Bears Ranked Among NFL’s Top 10 Rosters After 2026 Free Agency

The Chicago Bears have been ranked among the NFL’s top rosters following free agency as their young core and improved depth continue to draw national praise.

The Chicago Bears aren’t sneaking up on anyone in 2026.

After last season’s NFC North title and a busy offseason, Chicago is now being talked about the way fans have been hoping for years: like a legitimate contender. And the latest national ranking reflects that shift.

Bleacher Report recently slotted the Bears as the No. 7 roster in the NFL coming out of free agency.

For a team that was at the bottom of the division not long ago, that’s a massive statement.

The Bears' rise didn’t happen overnight.

General manager Ryan Poles has spent the last few years stacking talent the right way: through the draft, targeted free-agent additions, and disciplined roster management.

Now it’s starting to show.

The Bears have a balanced roster, even if it's still incomplete.

There’s depth. There’s youth. And most importantly, there’s a clear identity forming on both sides of the ball.

The Bears' Offense Is Driving the Buzz

Let’s be honest, this ranking starts with quarterback Caleb Williams.

After taking a major step forward last season, Williams has gone from promising young quarterback to the kind of player who can realistically enter the MVP conversation in 2026.

And the supporting cast around him is only getting better.

Wide receivers Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III bring explosive playmaking ability. Tight end Colston Loveland might be the best young player at his position. And running back Kyle Monangai is waiting in the wings to be a banger as the Bears' RB1.

That’s a lot of firepower, and it’s all built around a quarterback who’s still ascending.

Chicago's Defense Reloading, Not Rebuilding

The Bears did lose some key contributors on defense this offseason. But instead of panicking, Poles pivoted.

Chicago added safety Coby Bryant, linebacker Devin Bush, and defensive lineman Neville Gallimore. They bring speed, physicality, and a different kind of edge to the unit.

And here’s the part that should excite fans even more: Cornerbacks Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon are expected to be healthy again.

If that happens, this defense could look a lot different than the one that battled injuries throughout last season.

The Bears Are No Longer Chasing

For years, Bears fans looked at rankings like this and wondered when Chicago would be included.

Now they are.

Being ranked as a top-10 roster doesn’t guarantee anything. But it does confirm what’s been building at Halas Hall: this team has real talent, real depth, and real expectations.

The Bears aren’t trying to prove they belong anymore. They’re being viewed as a team that’s already there, and one that might not be done climbing.
