Early Free Agency Suitors Emerge for Kenneth Walker, Travis Etienne
ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler reports early free agency suitors are emerging for running backs Kenneth Walker and Travis Etienne.
Two of the NFL’s most dynamic running backs, including Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker, could draw significant interest when free agency begins.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, both Walker and Travis Etienne are expected to have multiple suitors if they reach the open market.
Fowler reported that Walker is likely to consider several NFC teams, while Etienne is already drawing attention from contenders in the AFC West.
“I'm hearing Walker will consider the Giants and Commanders among his options, with the Titans as a possibility, too,” Fowler wrote. “Etienne has AFC West love via Denver and Kansas City. Both of those teams could check on Walker and others, too, depending on price ranges.”
The early buzz highlights how several teams could prioritize backfield upgrades this offseason.
Kenneth Walker Could Draw NFC Interest
Walker has established himself as one of the league’s more explosive running backs since entering the NFL.
The former second-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks rushed for a career-high 1,050 yards as a rookie in 2022 and surpassed the 1,000-yard mark again during the 2025 season. He also delivered one of the most memorable postseason performances in recent history.
Walker rushed for 135 yards in Super Bowl LX, leading Seattle to a victory and earning Super Bowl MVP honors.
Given his production and big-play ability, the New York Giants and Washington Commanders could view Walker as a centerpiece addition for their offenses. Fowler also mentioned the Tennessee Titans as another potential destination, depending on how the running back market develops.
Travis Etienne Drawing Interest From AFC Contenders
While Walker may attract attention from NFC teams, Etienne appears to have several suitors in the AFC.
The former first-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars has been one of the league’s most versatile offensive weapons during his career. He has three 1,000-yard rushing seasons on his resume, including 1,107 yards and seven touchdowns in 2025.

Fowler’s report suggests the 2026 free agency running back market could feature several notable names this offseason.
Kenneth Walker brings explosive rushing ability and postseason pedigree, while Etienne offers versatility as both a runner and pass catcher. With multiple teams seeking offensive upgrades, both players could generate significant interest once negotiations begin.
As free agency approaches, the destinations for Walker and Etienne will be among the storylines worth monitoring around the league.
