Titans Release Two Veteran Starters in Roster Shakeup
The Tennessee Titans released center Lloyd Cushenberry and safety Xavier Woods, signaling further roster changes ahead of the 2026 offseason.
The Tennessee Titans made two notable roster moves Tuesday.
According to Adam Schefter, the Tennessee Titans released center Lloyd Cushenberry and safety Xavier Woods. Cushenberry was released with a failed physical designation.
Cushenberry played in 15 games for the Titans in 2025 after tearing his Achilles tendon midway through the 2024 season. He suffered a late-season foot injury last year.

Cushenberry brought starting experience after playing four seasons with the Denver Broncos. Tennessee must now evaluate whether it addresses center through free agency, the draft, or an internal option. Offensive line stability remains critical as the Titans attempt to rebuild around Cam Ward.
The release of Woods signals a separate defensive shift.
Woods served as a veteran presence in the secondary and provided steady snap volume in 2025. He appeared in 11 games for the Titans after prior stops with the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, and Carolina Panthers.
Releasing veterans clears room and creates flexibility ahead of free agency and the NFL draft. The Titans are in Year 1 of the Robert Saleh era, so expect more roster turnover in the coming weeks.
