Bears coach spurns Eagles to stay in Chicago
One Chicago Bears assistant is pulling out of the running for a job with the Philadelphia Eagles, passing up the chance to call plays.
Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle isn't going anywhere.
Doyle has removed his name from consideration for the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive coordinator position, per multiple reports:
Doyle likely would have gotten the opportunity to call plays in Philly under head coach Nick Sirianni, but is opting to stay in Chicago despite the fact that Bears head coach Ben Johnson handles those duties.
The Eagles have a star-studded offense (Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith), but Doyle clearly preferred the chance to keep working with Caleb Williams and a long list of promising talents in Chicago.
This kind of move speaks to the culture change that has continued to take place under Johnson in Chicago. This is where coaches and players want to be, and that's not gonna change anytime soon.
