The bad news keeps pouring in for the Chicago Bears, as defensive lineman Andrew Billings will likely miss the rest of the 2024 season with a torn pec muscle.
Bears coach Matt Eberflus shared the news during his press conference Wednesday. While he didn't confirm Billings will miss the rest of the year, he did say the 311-pound defensive lineman will have surgery to repair the injury.
Billings has been a key cog to the Chicago Bears defense since his arrival in 2023. He signed a two-year contract extension last November that will keep him in Chicago through 2025, and there's no doubt he'll be back as a critical starter for this defense next year.

Billings has logged 297 snaps and a 62.5 overall grade from Pro Football Focus through eight games this season. He has the Bears' highest pass-rush grade (78.6) among defenders with at least 200 snaps, registering 14 pressures this year.
He'll be a huge loss, no pun intended.
