The Chicago Bears have never been known as a team with an exciting (or modern) offense. It's consistently been a struggle to watch failed quarterback after failed quarterback throw inaccurate passes to fringe NFL receivers. Maybe struggle isn't strong enough of a word. It's been utter torture.
However, the winds of change are blowing in Chicago now that first overall pick Caleb Williams is in town. He alone brings legitimacy to an offense that has never, in franchise history, had a quarterback with his pedigree. But here's the great news: Williams isn't alone. He'll be joined by several new additions on offense, including All-Pro wideout Keenan Allen and fellow first-round pick Rome Odunze.
Allen and Odunze are especially noteworthy. The Chicago Bears already field one of the NFL's top all-around receivers in DJ Moore, and when combined with Allen and Odunze, the BEARS RECEIVERS are being widely recognized as one of the top trios in the NFL.
Yes, you read that correctly. The Chicago Bears wide receivers are studs.
Pro Football Focus recently rated the strongest position groups in the NFL, and the BEARS ranked above the rest at receiver.
Can I emphasize the point any stronger? Has the bold and italics gotten the point across?
MORE: Predicting the outcome for every Bears game in 2024
This is a shocking reality for Bears fans. It's not because a receiver room comprised of Moore, Allen, and Odunze is that respected, instead, it's that that's the Bears' receivers room.
DJ Moore had one of the best receiving seasons in franchise history in 2023, finishing the year with 96 catches for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns. He set career highs in all three categories, and while he may have more competition for targets in 2024, he also has a much better passer targeting him when his number is called.
Not to be outdone, Keenan Allen also set a career-high in 2023 with 108 catches, totaling 1,243 yards and seven scores.
It's a remarkable 1-2-punch joined by Rome Odunze, who had 92 catches for 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns with the Washington Huskies last fall.
What a time for a Chicago Bears fan to be alive.
