Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles worked overtime this offseason to assemble an outstanding trio of wide receivers for rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. Poles wasn't satisfied with just having D.J. Moore at the position, who recorded career-highs in receptions (96), receiving yards (1,364) and touchdowns (8) last season.

Poles then acquired potential future Hall of Famer Keenan Allen in a stunning offseason trade with the Los Angeles Chargers. Moore and Allen combined to record 206 catches for 2,607 yards and 15 touchdowns throughout 2023. Hellbent on fielding a dynamic aerial attack next season, Poles drafted former Washington Huskies wide receiver Rome Odunze with the No. 9 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, completing what might be the best receiving trio in the league.

Former NFL quarterback and current network analyst David Carr agrees.

"They have the potential for that [to be the best trio in the league]," Carr said. "They have a complete unit. When you look from the top down, D.J. Moore is a guy that can handle the football at the line of scrimmage, or push it down the field vertically. You have Keenan Allen as a veteran player that can win on third down. And then they got Rome Odunze, who if he grows into what we think he can be, will be a vertical stretcher that can make plays on the football. They have all three levels covered. They have the potential to be the most complete group," Carr concluded.

The Bears averaged a 27th-ranked 182.1 passing yards per game last season. Poles was determined to improve that, having made sweeping changes top to bottom, including at quarterback and wide receiver, and at offensive coordinator with the hiring of Shane Waldron. The Bears may legitimately have the best receiving trio in the entire league.

What a time to be alive.
