Chicago Bears defensive end Montez Sweat may have only played nine regular-season contests with the Bears in 2023 following his midseason acquisition from the Washington Commanders, but he's already embraced the decades-long rivalry between the Bears and Green Bay Packers. Sweat delivered a strong statement regarding the upcoming 2024 meetings with the Packers. Sweat doesn't plan on losing to Green Bay throughout the impending campaign.

"I'm letting you know right now man, I'm not losing to Green Bay this year," Sweat said during a podcast appearance on The Green Light, hosted by former NFL player Chris Long. "I can't do it, I can't do it man. I'm not losing to Green Bay this year. We've created a real rivalry," Sweat concluded.

Sweat played in Chicago's regular-season finale with the Packers, a 17-9 defeat. Sweat recorded three tackles but did not sack Packers quarterback Jordan Love, who completed 27-of-32 passing attempts for 316 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Sweat was still with the Commanders when the Bears lost 38-20 to the Packers in Week 1.

The Bears have dropped 10 consecutive meetings with the Packers, who have swept the two-game season series every campaign from 2019 onward. The Bears last defeated the Packers in Week 15 of the 2018 season, when Mitchell Trubisky was still the Bears' starting quarterback. It's a new era with soon-to-be quarterback Caleb Williams and defensive superstars like Sweat who are approaching the Packers with the right attitude.

Here's to Sweat leading the Bears to two victories over the Packers in 2024.
